The book is very helpful and arrives earlier than expected. You are able to access the first ~13 pages of the book online immediately. Also, the seller provides a FREE Test Taking Tips DVD after purchase and a pen.Contains sections labeled as 'Arithmetic & Algebra' and 'Geometry & Data'.Contains a section of 23 practice questions, followed by the solution of each one.Provides suggestions and "tips" to take a test in general and explains the overall process to take a Praxis test.

I thought the study guide was great. It may have been beneficial to include more visual figures and models in addition to the text. I also liked the practice questions at the end of each section.

This book is awesome and easy to follow.

Test Prep.

This book has a lot of valuable information in it that helped my daughter understand the concepts of some of the problems she had problems with last year and is helping her get ready for next years problems. This has a fantastic explanation in it that even I can understand. My daughter struggles with math but seems to find this an easier way of understanding what she was missing before.

With the national and state shortage of teachers, the changing of the cut scores, and the high demand of teacher effectiveness, the book is a breath of fresh air for students needing to take the test and pass on the first try. It has perfect examples of what the test looks like and guides the students along at a pace that works for them.

I’m most impressed with this study guide. I found it easy to follow & well laid out structurally. The explanations are easy to understand & guaranteed to help anyone raise their score.

Dr Damien Kee holds a PhD in Robotics and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and has been running Technology based workshops for students and Professional Development for teachers since 2003. His workshops are run extensively in Australia and he has been invited to present internationally in the US, UK, Singapore and Jordan. Damien has been involved with the RoboCup Junior competition for over 10 years, holding the Chairman position of RoboCupJunior Australia from 2009-2011. I'm using this resource in a homeschool co-op environment with 5 boys ages 9-11. Each lesson in the book is designed to utilize about 5 hours of time. We don't have that much each week, so I split the lessons between weeks, and have the boys work on the student pages and programming at home in between sessions. It is taking us about 2 weeks per "week" of lessons. The boys are learning a lot, and the format of the lessons is easy for me as a parent teacher to utilize, even with limited EV3 background. There is a nice mix of theory and practice in the book to discuss, giving a great foundation. The math is manageable for the kids at the level I'm teaching with a little help here and there for those who hadn't encountered circumference or pi yet.

This is an excellent book that I have used to teach LEGO robotics during the summer in an elementary school. It is very helpful and I recommend it for anyone interested in teaching LEGO robotics.

I wish I had this earlier in the school year. We did win the FLL amatuer division in Palm Beach County without this but his would have been a big help. Plan to use this next year when we enter the masters division.

I like it because it is easy to follow along with.

EXCELLENT BOOK for the BEGINNING Robotics Teacher!

this has been a great resource for my robotics team. We all learned a lot that will improve our season this year. the book arrived quickly and I love that I can download the student worksheets from the website so I didn't have to go through hassle of getting book to lay flat to make copies! I even recommended the NXT version to another team who was looking for helpful resources.

I was thrilled with this book. I purchased it as a guide to teaching my own children. It would make a GREAT program for a teacher looking to explore the Lego Mindstorms EV3 educational kit. The way the material is presented is perfectly staggered from beginning techniques to more advanced material. Each lesson builds on the last in a great way.

In 22 substantive chapters, Dr. Kee introduces programming exercises, providing early and easy successes for the students, before going deeper into programming concepts such as flowcharting and planning.Along the way appropriate math is introduced, and enterprising teachers can further expand the concepts to include more physics concepts.The book's focus is primarily on LEGO EV3 robotic programming, as you might expect, but Dr. Kee also introduces the EV3 Content Editor, an embedded presentation development environment that will enable teachers to develop student challenges and the students to document and explain their work.Sensor thresholds are well explored and students should complete the course with a good understanding of the concepts.Further, mechanical concepts such as gears and levers are explored in several exercises, giving the students hands-on experience.The book's final two chapters provide ready-made worksheets for the Busy Teacher as well as building instructions for the core models and tools used in the lessons.Classroom Activities for the Busy Teacher: EV3 by Dr. Damien Kee lives up to the title and continues his strong tradition of NXT and WeDo LEGO activity books.As someone who's been working with kids and LEGO robots for the last 4 years, this is a valued addition to my robotics library.

About the Author

Elizabeth Enslin grew up in Seattle and went on to earn her PhD in cultural anthropology from Stanford University in 1990. While a graduate student, she married into a Brahman family in the plains of Nepal. Inspired by local women, especially her mother-in-law, she researched women’s organizing, poetics, politics, and agroecology. Her academic essay, "Beyond Writing: Feminist Practice and the Limits of Ethnography," still inspires conversations about feminism and the ethics of research and activism.Enslin returned to the Pacific Northwest in 1995 and earned her living as a high school and college teacher, a grant writer, and an independent consultant. She has published creative nonfiction and poetry in The Gettysburg Review, Crab Orchard Review, The High Desert Journal, The Raven Chronicles, Opium Magazine, and In Posse Review and received an Individual Artist Fellowship Award from the Oregon Arts Commission and an honorable mention for the Pushcart Prize.She currently lives in a strawbale house in the canyon country of northeastern Oregon, where she raises garlic, pigs, and yaks. Reading While the Gods Were Sleeping is like opening a door into a new, completely unfamiliar world. The experiences described by Enslin combined by her anthropological insights truly enriched this reader's understanding of life in Nepal. One marvels at this story of a modern American woman whose academic interest and fortitude kept her in Nepal for the length of time she was there. Enslin undoubtedly has had other interesting and unusual life experiences and I hope she writes about them.

5 stars on behalf of my friend who was gifted this and is raving about the author's command of language and storytelling. I look forward to reading this soon,

I found that this book was a great addition to my trip to Nepal. We did meet and talk to a number of the local people, and it augmented that experience a lot.

This is a great read. It is a wonderful example of how we live our lives - making decisions without really knowing what we are doing. I enjoyed the adventures of Elizabeth Enslin and am happy she wrote her story.

Fantastic read! I highly recommend it. The author brings you along on the wondrous journey across the world. Filled with insights into the Nepali culture, people, politics, and more.

Content interesting but the author writes in a very dry, unenthusiastic, blah manner.

This book was very informative regarding the cultural expectations most particularly as they relate to women. I don't think I could adjust to meet those demands.

Amazing book about culture, family and women's issues in Nepal. If you want to understand village life, family structure in Nepal and the struggles of finding your way in a new culture, then please read this wonderful book. It has helped me to understand much about Nepal.
