#14,186 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)

I didn't like the book. Some romances suffer from not enough conflict keeping the leads apart; this one actually had too much. On Norah's side, you've got plenty of issues: her past drug abuse, her strained family life, the fact that she works for Sterling's family as one of her jobs, and her decision never to get involved with anyone because the men in her life have all sucked. On Sterling's side, you've got his potential snowboarding career taking him out of Gold Valley, his family's classist disapproval in general, plus his brother's wife actively being classist and trying to split them up by firing Norah. Oh, and throw in one scene of Sterling's cheating ex feebly trying to get back with him. So that's, what, seven stumbling blocks already? Then, for both of them, there's the non-fraternization policy at Silver Creek, where Norah got Sterling a counseling job.Eight subplot conflicts. Eight. In a 266-page book. So none of them can be explored in any depth or with much seriousness, because there simply isn't time. The fraternization issue, after a few chapters of the two of them "sneaking" around, is resolved with a single, relatively calm discussion with the Silver Creek director, who harrumphes once and says "I guess policies can be changed."Seriously? If that's all it took to fix the problem, then why even bother writing it in? Why make it an issue at all? Clean out the easy problems and focus on the ones that matter!

This was another wonderful clean sweet romance by Liz Isaacson. I have all of her books and thought they just could not get better. I was wrong of course. The growth of both Sterling and Norah from beginning to end. The struggles they both faced in their individual lives and together really made for an interesting read.I read the book in one sitting I could not put it down. I can't wait for the next in the series.*I was given a free ARC by the author for an honest review.

but an otherwise good story. The themes of redemption and forgiveness are woven thru “After the Fall”. While it’s categorized as a Christian romance, the religious aspects are gentle, not preachy with hand holding, hugging ‘n kissing rounding out this totally chaste adventure. The main characters are well developed and have complex, difficult families from opposing sides of the economic railroad tracks. The majority of this novel is spent reckoning the disparity between the two worlds and the 2 main characters learning to trust each other and more importantly, God. This is not “pie in the sky” writing but lots or what I call “relationship reality”. Liz Isaacson writes real people, in situations you’ll recognize, having tho’ts and feelings you might have experienced yourself.

Norah had a troubled young life with her difficult mom and using hydrocodone to relieve migraines, then to relieve her anxiety. At fifteen, the court sent her to a rehab horse farm. Now, she's working there as she helps troubled young girls. Norah's also cleaning wealthy families' homes, taking classes at night in order to care for her sick mom and her three half brothers. Sterling is a champion snowboarder who was severely injured. After being released from the hospital, he's staying in the basement of his parents' mountain house. When Norah starts cleaning upstairs, he thinks she's a burglar! It doesn't take long for them to become friends. Can Sterling come out of his funk enough to help counsel the boys at the horse ranch? Can Norah believe that God brought them together and that Sterling isn't going anywhere, wouldn't leave? This is a story of trusting God before we can trust others. I loved this sweet romance and am looking forward to the next book in the series!

Romance is the name of the game in this book. This book delivers what we all want more romance and excitement in our life. Overall I am very well pleased with this book and the excitement it has brought me. This book had me unwilling to put it down until I turned the last page as I was so enthralled with the plot. The author of this book knows how to deliver the good in this romance novel. Would I recommend this book to other people? Yes I would including friends. I absolutely think this is great book. All opinions are my own and they are not influenced by anyone but myself. If this review helped you at all please vote yes below.

How do you deal with the death of your dreams? Can that very loss be God’s loving way of leading you to a better future? Both the hero and heroine of this story have seen their dreams die and experienced betrayal by those who should have taken care of them. She is afraid to trust anyone, while he mourns the loss of the sport he loved, doubting God’s love for him. Mutual attraction, insecurities, scheming relatives, and struggles with socioeconomic differences all make this book complex and worthwhile.

Really enjoy this author. I find it refreshing how two lost souls able to work through their problems. This story is about sterling who is in competitive sports and gets injured. He is angry and feeling sorry for himself. Norah who cleans his family home, does not know he is there when she comes in to clean. Sterling does not know who is in his family home and think is a burglar goes to investigate. She motivates him to work on his recovery and he helps to realize that she can be loved.

I was not sure at first if I would like the book at first glance, thinking it is not sounding like the sort I usually like, but I have read other books by Liz Isaacson that I really liked, so I went on to read it & sure, enough, it made me want to read more of her books- no matter the setting, they are well written, with well-developed characters involved in interesting interactions. It becomes about the characters, less the career they have. I did receive this as a free book in exchange for an honest review.

I have been reading the Aeon 14 series for about 9 months now. It is a highly complex series that revolves around the Orion War series with multiple characters all vying for your affection and attention. These are extremely well written with excellent science behind them and wonderful imaginative enhancements and technology that makes me want to live then, with that technology instead of now...though it is easy to see if you follow current science advancements how most if not all of them could really be in our future. Michael Cooper has done a wonderful thing in recruiting other SF writers to help him put out side stories and back stories, that really brings home to the reader the depth of the characters. I am loving these books, and this one, the Precipice of Darkness ties together many of the story lines from previous books. It also starts some new story lines that make perfect sense in the context of previous stories. I think it is a wonderful book and I was full engrossed and enthralled in the reading. I would not recommend this book as a starting point, it is #7 in the main storyline of the Orion War, you should at least read books 1-6 of the Orion War if not all the other side stories. This is the Game of Thrones of future and as well written and thought out. Read Michael D Cooper and his merry crew as they are well worth every penny.

The pacing of this book was disappointing compared to other books in the series. There were so many plot threads going on that none of the individual threads received the coverage that they required. I appreciate that the author is describing an ever-more-complex universe filled with vivid, interesting characters. And yes, as these characters become involved in the central plot line, that plot line becomes harder to find. I don't think this book achieves the focus that I've come to enjoy from other books in the series.

I starting reading another super book in the Aeon 14 Universe and just got not put the book down. This book concluded several treads that have been building since the Out System. However not to worry new ones have started and we got see the big bad's in the Core!!!

This book is awesome!! Cary takes down a near ascended being, Bob takes down an ascended AI that Tangel isn't powerful enough (yet) to best in battle, saving her to fight another day, another visit to the LMC, and THREE Seras! My only regret is I have to wait for Airtha Ascendency to come out, but I have Tanis Richards Darkest Night and Bob"s Bar to hold me over in the meantime. Who knows, maybe the 4-way with the 3 Seras and Cheeky will still happen! The stuff of dreams, my friends!

Couldn't put it down, of course that happens with all the Aeon 14 books. This book pulls a bunch of threads together that have been hanging, illustrating the complexity of the war that is occurring. While it does make it a bit busy, I like it as I like to know what all is going on.As far as the events of the story go, there were few times I realized I was holding my breath. Also there were a few times I was thinking "You better not Micheal Cooper!" (I still haven't forgiven him for Brandr or Ouri, lol). It's also great to see what's going on in the places Tanis is not to support the war.

MD Cooper knocked another one out of the park. I really enjoyed this book as with all the rest. It was a page turner for sure. However, if you haven’t followed his other books, this one probably shouldn’t be your first. My only real complaint is that it was to short. Oh, it was’t really short, just kinda seemed that way. I read it in one sitting. I WOULD like to see longer books in the future but you at least get a lot throughout the year. I would take Cooper’s 30 or so throughout the year compared to Weber’s one every 18-24 months. Get with the Aeon 14 Universe, you won’t be disappointed.

Another great book by Michael Cooper. While the main story continues, new tales of redemption and honor are seen. Whether it was from Katrina and her band, or Cheeky and her band of misfits, second chances are offered and taken. And then Bob takes charge. A great read!

Tangel, Seras, Trine...so many principal characters drawn into destinies that could never be pre-conceived. As war hovers about some sectors & decimates others, the keys to peace stretch mere humans beyond the very definitions of their humanity. And at the core reside those whom cannot even define their own kind...
